Tokenisation involves creating digital certificates (tokens) that represent ownership of either a full cask or fractions of casks. These tokens are stored on the Polygon blockchain, providing a transparent and secure way to track ownership and trade the whisky. Each token corresponds to a specific amount of whisky, which are listed out on their marketplace. Tokenisation also creates space for viable exit strategies, for more liquidity in your investment

To provide prospective whisky cask owners with an idea of potential returns, we can look at recent sales of independently bottled Macallan whiskies. For example, an investment through our partner Meta Dram 30-year-old Macallan from an independent bottler (like those available from The Whisky Exchange) is typically priced between £2,500 to £4,500 for a 70cl bottle.

Based on current retail prices, bottling a cask could yield between £25,000 to £45,000 per token of 7 litres, depending on the bottler and market demand at the time of sale.
